Full Description

Hoard of Ro coins found in 1990 at Grives Farm. The coins were recovered from an area in excess of 100m square. A piece of lead found with them, also 2 pieces of pottery later found by M Bishop. Dates and condition of coins suggest a hoard, scattered by ploughing. (1)
Dates from 69 AD to 166 AD - probably deposited c 170 AD. Represent about a month's wages for a Ro soldier, probably concealed for safekeeping. (Includes list of coins - see doc 611). (2)
NCM intends to acquire the hoard. (3)
