Full Description

Earthworks in field at S end of Upper Row, visible on APs. Ditches, probably field boundaries, and a possible road or track, raised with ditch either side. (1)
The present A57 was first turnpiked in 1765 (2), and it appears that the turnpike route cut through an earlier road pattern, where an E-W route ran from a kink in Upper Row through to The Green. These earthworks are the old road line, associated field boundaries and the old stream course. (3)
See L11523 for C8-C19 pottery from nearby.
