Full Description

Saxon gold ring found 10/10/1999 at above grid ref by Mr JE Smith. (1)
Gold finger ring of the early Anglo-Saxon period consisiting of a broad, flat band decorated with filigree scrolls and punched motifs expanding to a flat bezel inlaid with 2 garnet discs above and below a square garnet. The ring can be dated to the C6 AD on the basis of its form and decoration - possibly a Continental import of the time. (3)
