Full Description

Roman pottery occurs in the gravel on the W bank above the site of the Roman bridge near Cromwell, where the river runs straight: and a block of dressed Blue-Lias stone was recently found here upon the site of the new lock, at least 25ft from the present (river) bank. (1)
These finds may be related to the nearby villa, M4282.
