Full Description

An oak beam ... was found 15ft below the surface, during gravel quarrying in an old meander of the River Trent, --/12/1967. The beam was found under boat 2. The beam, 22ft 6in in length, had a pair of holes at each end. The age of the beam is doubtful, but it bears a resemblance to timbers used in Ro bridge construction. (1)
