Full Description

3 late BA weapons were found during gravel working in June ... from the N end of cuts 7 and 8, in the vicinity of many oak piles driven into the gravel. (A socketed axehead (66.161) was found earlier to W). A late Hallstatt derived Irish or Scottish bronze sword ... length 658mm, width at shoulder 57mm (66.159). A second intact Hallstatt sword, ... length 632mm, shoulder width 57mm (67.10). A socketed axehead with fluted blade and remains of wooden haft in socket (66.160).
