Full Description

A trial trench across what appeared to be a wide ditch or sunken road traversing the field in a roughly N-S direction. At the western end of the trench, at a depth of 2ft 6in to 4ft 6in was found a layer of closely packed soil interspersed with one or two C4 pottery fragments of coarse grey ware. (1)
