Full Description
Polished greenstone axes ... were found in Ro occupation layers during the excavation of Margidunum in 1910-36 by F Oswald. (1)
All the material from Oswald's excavations is held by NUM. (2)
5 Neo axes were found at Margidunum; 4 are of group 6, the other, a fragment, is of group 7. (3) See M1741 for Ro town and cross refs, L8176 for BA finds.

Currently as Church Warden, I'm responsible for this gem of a building. Being largely an unalterted Tudor church, we get visitors from far and wide. We also host groups from societies and those with special interest. We are open most days from 10am to 4 pm.
