Full Description
Field 12. Preliminary and detailed fieldwalking produced 2 scatters. The main one, of 2323 sherds, was in a linear spread running roughly parallel with the SE edge of the Fosse. It continued for c 150m along the road, and extended SE for c 50-60m. Forms included Dales ware type jars, BB1 flanged dish, colour coated folded and bag beakers and dog dishes, grey ware, and samian. The second scatter, of 27 sherds, was c 150m to the SE of the Fosse. 25 grey ware sherds, one mortarium fragment and one colour coat. Dates altogether of C1 to C4. (1)
