Full Description

A flint dagger was found at the side of a disused gravel pit, at approx SK 623393, by N Espin in July 1964. The dagger was an isolated find, but of Beaker A-C type. Leaf shaped with a rounded butt, 19cm long, 57mm max width, 0.8mm thick. Of fine workmanship and in good condition. The flint is a translucent black-brown in colour, with a grey band towards the butt. (1)
The indicated grid ref falls in an area that has not been worked for gravel. The nearest approach is 150.0m to the N and W, centred at above grid ref. (2)
