Full Description

Found (in dumped earth) were 3 body sherds of coarse hand-made pottery with light brown surfaces and dark grey core. The surfaces are uneven with filler protruding. The filler is quartz and sandstone up to 3mm in size and the small brown ironstone particles are in a base of sandy clay with some mica. They are probably early IA and compare with sherds from Colwick Marina and also the fragments of a large storage jar fom Epperstone. They were found in association with some fragments of deer antler and cattle bones showing butchering marks. (1)
See L 5929 for Neo finds.
