Full Description

Mechanical stripping by the Thoroton Society of an area of land centred here, as part of the excavation of a series of cropmarks, exposed a complicated series of ditches, which in some cases were cut well into the gravels. Pottery recovered was mainly Ro, C3/C4. (1)
A complex grid of ditches has been found. Pottery from one area belonged to the period 50 BC-50 AD, and from a second area Iron Age - 17th century! (2)
