Full Description

Middle BA (spear and) rapier from the Trent. (1)
Dredged from the River Trent near Stoke Ferry. Rapier, group III, Ind Phade VII-Taunton, MBA. Trapezoidal butt with two worn rivet holes (dia 9mm) an "omega" hilt mark and a central rib which disappears towards the point. The patina is olive in colour and abrasion has revelaed the bronze beneath. Scratches across the hilt mark may have aided the fixing of the handle. L 401mm, mbw 50.5mm and wt 200g. (2)
