Full Description

A polished axehead of green-grey fine grained stone was found in the early 1960's at the gravel pit. The exact location is unknown, but it is believed to have come from near Holme Cut (above grid ref). It remains in private possession. (1)
The axe was found before 1960 near the Trent, where noted. Axe still held by Cole (finder). (2) (3)
