Full Description

A ravine or gully was noted during the walkover survey up to 7.5m wide and about 4m deep running from the N-S footpath, through Ice House Wood and SE towards A608. There is a shallow hollow at its W end and several other irregularities along its course which might be the results of quarrying. The icehouse (M5300) is built into the ravine and therefore post-dates it. The ravine would seem to be a man-made feature, possibly a N boundary to the Hall/Park or a trackway. (1)
Grid refs SK 5034 5252 to SK 5028 5238 - grid ref in (1) is wrong.
