Full Description
5 - A structure more than 3.5m long and 2.0m wide was made of round sectioned oak, lime and birch posts of 6-8cm diameter. The posts were inserted into the lowest layers of the gravel and 6 of them were in a line 75cm apart and 3 were random. There was much brushwood associated with the posts and the structure was probably part of a weir or staunch of unknown date. (1)
