Title | The Former Rainbow Depot, Burgage Green, Southwell, Nottinghamshire: Report on an Archaeological Evaluation |

Author/Originator | K. Mapplethorpe |
Date/Year | 2015 |
Abstract/Summary
Five trenches (four 3m long and one 15m long) were excavated within the site boundary in December 2014. Modern brickwork was present in two of the trenches and although a large amount of landscaping had been undertaken in some areas, preservation of the subsurface archaeology was better than expected.
Structural remains related to the house of correction and lace factory were found within four of the five trenches, with the fifth containing two linear features which may be related to an earlier phase of occupation.
