Title | Archaeological evaluation report: Geophysical survey by Magnetometry on land at Farleys farm, Tuxford, Nottinghamshire |
---|---|
Author/Originator | Robert Evershed |
Date/Year | 2017 |
Abstract/Summary
The local landscape has produced flint tools indicative of prehistoric activity from the Mesolithic to the Bronze Age periods. The survey identified very little of archaeological interest, with several linear positive features most likely relating to former field boundaries seen on historic Ordnance Survey mapping. A large number of parallel linear features in the eastern half of the site most likely represent modern land drainage. There are several other positive linear features which likely represent more land drains, but could represent former field ditches.
