Abstract/Summary

A detailed magnetic gradiometer survey was undertaken for Nottinghamshire YMCA in connection with a proposed development of the Recreation Ground, Elm Avenue, Newark On Trent, Nottinghamshire. The survey totalled c. 9.5ha. The survey recorded discrete positive anomalies across the field could possibly represent pit like features. However, these are somewhat isolated and are difficult to interpret on the basis of form alone and difficult to rule out a more natural resolve. Other features form modern services, building debris, and possibly modern foundation.
