Abstract/Summary

Report detailing the findings of archaeological monitoring and recording of 3 tiered watching briefs and strategised excavation of areas where tunnel shafts were sited. 2 shafts, Shaft 3 and 4, produced postive identification of archaeological features including a section of castle moat and pits containing late saxon and early medieval material.
