The archaeological monitoring and recording of the groundworks pertaining to the construction oftwo new detached residential dwellings with integral garages at 2, Gainsborough Road, Winthorpe, Nottinghamshire was carried out on the 6th-7th and on the 9th-10th of July 2020. The groundworks for this development, which consisted of the creation of several new access driveways onto the two new detached residential dwellings along with further mechanical ground reduction of the areas of the two new build footprints and the mechanical excavation of the foundations for the two new house plots, were the subject of continual archaeological monitoring and recording. No archaeological activity was identified on this site and there were no finds.
