Abstract/Summary
A detailed magnetic gradiometer survey was undertaken in connection with a proposed development of the Land off Lincoln Road, Newark On Trent, Nottinghamshire. The survey totalled c. 0.9ha.
The survey recorded three parallel linear features which possibly form the remains of ridge and furrow cultivation or more modern activity such as land drains. The survey also recorded discrete positive anomalies across the field which could possibly represent pit like features. However, these are somewhat isolated and are difficult to interpret on the basis of form alone and difficult to rule out a more natural resolve. Other features form modern temporary road, and magnetic disturbance.
