Abstract/Summary

A programme of archaeological excavation was completed for the installation of a public work of art on the Queen’s Sconce earthwork within Sconce and Devon Park in Newark, Nottinghamshire. The Queen’s Sconce forms part of the Civil War fortifications of the town of Newark, and is a Scheduled Ancient Monument. The excavation revealed no finds or features of archaeological significance.
