An archaeological trial trench evaluation was undertaken of Land at A46/Melton Road, Hickling Nottinghamshire. This was in advance of proposed development of the site. The area is archaeologically sensitive, lying close to the Fosse Way, once afrontier of the Roman conquest in the mid-1st century. However, the trenching evaluation revealed no archaeologically significant features or finds. A sequence of natural, modern made ground and modern topsoil was recorded.
