Title Land West of Cottam Power Station, Rampton, Nottinghamshire: Report on an Archaeological Watching Brief
Author/Originator
Date/Year 2023

Abstract/Summary

An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during intrusive groundworks associated with the installation of a new foul water pipe on land west of Cottam Power Station, Rampton, Nottinghamshire. Five archaeological features were identified, none of which produced artefacts to provide dating evidence. However, comparing their locations to cartographic data suggests two of the features represented land divisions, one of which appearing on the 1888-1913 Ordnance Survey map. In one field, three northwest-southeast aligned features appear to have been drainage ditches.
