Abstract/Summary

An archaeological watching brief during ground-works associated with the erection of two blocks of flats on land previously occupied by East Leake Service Station, Main Street, East Leake, Nottinghamshire was carried out. The area has been identified of being of archaeological potential as it was situated close to the medieval village core of East Leake. The excavation of the foundations for the buildings revealed the natural substratum immediately below the asphalt surface. No archaeological features or finds associated with archaeological features were discovered during this watching brief.
