Description
Pigeoncote. Mid C18. Red brick with a pantile roof and dentillated eaves. 2 storeys, 5 bays, with a 1st floor band. Central blocked doorway under a segmental arch. To the right a later casement and doorway, to the left a later doorway and casment. Casements lack glazing. Above are 2 rectangular openings, the top half of both having wooden bars. To the left, slightly set back, is a brick and pantile lean-to with brick coping and flush band of headers above the blocked doorway. Above the band, in a diamond pattern, are several ventilation holes. Interior has an inserted 1st floor with rows of brick nesting holes and ledges to all 4 sides. These originally went from floor to roof, with evidence of blocked holes on the ground floor. (NCC/js)
