Description

Cotton mill, now disused. Late C18, with mid C19 additions. Reduced in height and remodelled early and late C20. Dressed stone and brick with slate gabled and hipped roofs, plus early C20 north lights. Square factory chimney, stone, raised in brick, C20. Single and 2 storeys, 8 bays wide. Square plan. Windows are various C19 and C20 casements. North side has regular fenestration and above, to left, loading door. West end has C19 casements with segmental heads, most of them blocked. To left, ogee headed carriage opening flanked by single blank quatrefoils. To right, remains of a similar carriage opening. (NCC)
