Description

Wooden platform shelter. 1848, originally constructed at Southwell Station, transferred here in 1871. Wood and cast iron with C20 asphalt roof covering. 12 bays with wooden partitions between each bay. Partitions have canted tops with cast iron braces and projecting straight iron braces which support iron trusses to angled single pitch roof. Vertical plank backs and wooden benches with turned legs to alternate bays, some incomplete. Roof has 3 continuous wooden purlins and plank roof with plain wooden bargeboards. This shelter is listed for group value with the station on the opposite platform. (NCC/js)
