Description

House. Early C18 and 1789, with mid C19 additions and alterations. Brick, partly rendered, with stone dressings and plain tile roofs. 2 gable stacks. Irregular rendered front, to street, has plinth and cogged eaves. 3 glazing bar sashes with a smaller sash between the pair to the right. Moulded stone doorcase with cornice and fanlight and C20 door. To left, a sash, and to right a casement and a door, both C20. In the return angle to left, a glazing bar sash on each floor, that above being smaller. Late C18 garden front, 3 storeys, has modillioned eaves. 3 tall glazing bar sashes and above, 3 smaller sashes. Central moulded stone doorcase with part glazed fielded panelled door, cornice and fanlight, flanked by single tripartite C20 casements. To right, 2 storey addition, C18 and mid C19. Rear has irregular fenestration, mainly C19 casements. Interior has late C18 dogleg stair with landings. Cut string, stick balusters, ramped and scrolled handrail. Plain rear stair of similar date. Principal rooms have moulded cornices. 2 late C18 hob grates. 5 fielded panelled doors. Addition to south has single butt purlin roof of reused timber. (NCC/js)
