Description

RCHME Excavation Index gives a date of 1968 (1) but the excavation is mentioned in the EMAB for 1966 as a rescue excavation (2). The excavation centred on a triangular plot approx 100m due S of Skegby Church. This was outside the churchyard and appeared undisturbed. The features which we revealed were quite near the surface.
