Description

Excavation commenced in May, 1948, a trench being dug to bisect the NE corner of the rampart and ditch (L1785)… a second trench cut through the N rampart and ditch (L8196). Examination of the small tumulus has been commenced by means of a trench along its long axis (L8197). (1) There were three trenches, but there is no information on their positions. See E165, E166 for further excavations at this site.
