Description

To check the projected line of cropmarks pointing towards the golf course, but not actually visible as cropmarks there, trenches F and G were excavated. Trench J, located in the 'blank' area between two double cropmark ditches, also demonstrated that not all the ditches show as cropmarks. (1) See E9041 and E9043 for references to other trenches, E9040 for geophysics.
