Description

A watching brief during a scheme of environmental improvement … groundworks associated with the repaving of Church Street. The improvement works required the removal by hand and mechanical means of tarmacadam forming the roadway between the corner of Kirkgate, South, to Market Place. This involved the removal of approximately 300mm of material from the road. Paving to the W and E of the road was also removed, again, to a depth of 300mm. The re-positioning of services was also required. The re-positioning of a Telecom access cover required he excavation of a 2m x 1m x 1m hole. (1) See E9248 for earlier evaluation by JSAC.
