Description

Watching brief during the removal of topsoil and overburden for Phase 4 of the W extension of Lound Quarry. 360 degree excavators were in use throughout. The topsoiled surface and exposed sections were examined for any evidence of archaeological or environmental material. (1) See E9317 for watching brief on phase 2 and 3.
