Description

The areas marked out for trenches were surveyed using metal detectors prior to, and after, stripping, and the topsoil from machining was also surveyed. ... Fieldwalking. The area to be walked was laid out in transects spaced at 10m intervals. Find spots were recorded in three dimensions using an EDM. See E9343 for excavations, E248 for earlier fieldwalking
