Description

Machine stripping of topsoil, subsoil and overburden from an 80 - 90m length of the zone of overlap of deposits forming the E margin of the Trent's floodplain with the W foot of a terrace of sand and gravel. All stripping was undertaken with toothless ditching bucket on the back actor of a tracked earth moving machine. (1) See E9396 for nearby fieldwalking and cross refs.
