Full Description

Watching brief on topsoil stripping. Only two features were recorded. One was seen in section at the N limit of excavation, a depression in the basal line of subsoil, c.1.2m wide and no more than 0.15m deep An isolated feature or possibly a shallow ditch. The second feature (in the southern part of the stripped area) was a slight ditch, almost 30m W - E, averaging 1 - 1.5m in width. A shorter length of similar appearance lay to its S, and apparently linked to the longer, but this was not investigated and is not easily explained. A cutting across the ditch yielded no artefacts.
