Description

The second part of the continuing watching brief begun in July 2002. An irregular area of some 3200 sqm was stripped of ploughsoil using a 360 degree mechanical excavator equippend with a 2m wide toothless ditching bucket, under the direct supervision of a qualified archaeologist. A metal detector survey undertaken over the explored archaeological features was negative. (1) See E9421 for geophysical survey, E9422 for fieldwalking.
