Description

Three trial trenches were excavated to examine the cropmark at sites 1, 2 and 3. Each trench was 3m wide and from 20 to 25m long. In each trench the topsoil was stripped under archaeological supervision using a toothless ditching bucket mounted on the back actor of a JCB. In trench 01 … no archaeological deposits were found. (1) Grid ref centred on Trench 01, Site 3.
