Full Description

Trench 02, Site 2, positioned over the W arm of a rectilinear cropmark (L1802). Two linear features, the larger 'v' shaped and cut almost 0.8m into the subsoil. c.0.5m depth within the fill, the base and lower body sherds of a blue-grey Ro pot, a piece of slag were recovered. Additonally, one piece of flint and several fire-cracked pebbles were recovered. The smaller linear feature (contained) a metal pipe, in direct alignment with a sludge standpipe some 100m distant (ie modern). (1)
