Description

Two trenches were excavated, one in each pit. Continuous column samples were recovered from trench 7 which was located to sample a cut-off palaeichannel, possibly an oxbow lake. Trench 8 was identified as a possible second palaeochannel. The sediments were very loose and slumped easily, however, bulk samples were collected.
