Description

Two areas surveyed: to the west, Abbey Meadow (c. 2.6ha); to the east, Long Meadow (c. 1.85ha). Instrument: Bartington Dual 601 fluxgate gradiometer with DL601 data logger, set ot take 4 readings per meter. Zig zag traverse method of survey was used, with 1m wide traverses across 30m x 30m grids. Few, if any, anomalies associated with the abbey remains were detected. Most anomalies appear to reflect relatively late disturbances at the site such as wartime activity or re-landscaping.
