Description
The development site is located in the town of Beeston, Nottinghamshire. It consists of an area of c.432 square metres. Prior to the development the land consisted of builder’s yard, enclosed by brick walls, with petrol pumps at the front of the site. The site also contained a large warehouse.
An archaeologist visited the site on 23rd January and 30th June 2006 and groundworks associated with the development were observed. The spoil heaps were also examined for archaeological finds.
Although the site had some potential for archaeological finds and features due to its proximity to the previously discovered handaxes, no archaeological finds were discovered during this watching brief.
