This desktop assessment considers the potential cultural heritage of the site and immediate surrounding area. In this assessment cultural heritage largely comprises archaeological remains and the historic landscape. The study area contains a number of known archaeological sites and potential remains necessitating further consideration within any proposed development. These include a Scheduled Ancient Monument protected under law. The report discusses the geoarchaeological and archaeological potential, the history of the site and consults the following sources; Nottinghamshire sites and monuments record, air photographs, documentary & cartographic sources, field inspection and palaeochannels.
