Description

Archaeological watching brief on land at West Burton Power Station, undertaken in September 2007 in association with a programme of geotechnical site investigation. Ten machine excavated trial pits and two trial pits specifically to investigate the site of the former Cheese House were monitored. Considerable thickness of fuel ash discovered. Linear feature could have been a foundation of the house.
