Description

Survey of three areas, totalling 45.5ha of land. Geophysical survey comprised on quad-towed, cart-mounted fluxgate gradiometer survey. The first tranche of survey commenced on 24/07/2017 and took 5 days. The second tranche commenced on 30/10/2017 and took 2 days. There were five areas of archaeological potential, mostly clustered on the east side of site. The west side was dominated by modern field drains and service trenches, as well as evidence of a number of ploughing regimes. These results were ground truthed (see SNT 2518)
