Description

The site lies on the southern side of Main Street in the village centre of Rempstone, which itself lies at the southern edge of Nottinghamshire, approximately 10 miles south of Nottingham and 5 miles north-east of Loughborough. The site lies within the medieval core of the village and adjacent to the 17th century Manor House. The work consisted of the excavation of foundation trenches associated with the renovation and extension of The Coach House, which itself is a modern dwelling, situated on the site of an earlier structure. Trenches associated with building extensions and a new garage were observed in three areas. All the trenches contained made-up ground. No archaeological features or finds associated with archaeological features were observed.
