Description

The site is located off Bowbridge Road, 1.6km to the south-east of the centre of Newark and 1.6km north-west of Balderton. The site is bounded to the north by allotments, to the west by Bowbridge Road, to the east by a sports and leisure complex and to the south by industrial/commercial units. An area approximately 1 ha in size was stripped of topsoil to investigate the potential for any archaeological remains. The topsoil was stripped in three phases occurring on August 16th, 19th and 26th 2016. No finds, features or made ground were identified during archaeological monitoring.
