Author/Originator
Date/Year 2016

Abstract/Summary

An archaeological watching brief was undertaken in satisfaction of planning consent in advance of the construction of an ‘extra-care’ residential development for the elderly. The site lies in close proximity to non-designated historic environment assets recorded within the Nottinghamshire HER (Historic Environment Record). An area measuring approximately 1 ha was stripped of topsoil and underlying natural silty sand deposits to the depth required by the development. The topsoil was stripped in three phases occurring on August 16th, 19th and 26th 2016. No buried archaeological features or finds were identified.
